The Courage to Design a Life You Love
How Katie Binzer and HiFavorite Are Powering Change Through Go Red for Women
By Stevi Gable Carr, Founder & CEO, WISe Wellness Guild
There are moments when you meet someone and immediately understand: their presence here is not accidental.
Katie Binzer is one of those people.
She carries herself with the kind of grounded optimism that doesn’t come from ease—but from perspective. The kind earned through operating rooms, uncertainty, and a lifetime of choosing courage anyway.
Katie is the founder of HiFavorite—a brand built around joy, creativity, and connection. She’s also a nominee for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Woman of Impact campaign, where she’s channeling her personal story into something larger than herself: advancing heart health for women everywhere.
Her story is not just one of survival. It’s one of intentional impact.
And it’s exactly the kind of leadership our world needs more of right now.
When Your Heart Shapes Your Life’s Work
Katie was born with complex cyanotic heart disease, including double outlet right ventricle (DORV), ventricular tachycardia, and dextrocardia with situs inversus—meaning her heart sits on the opposite side of her chest.
From the beginning, her life was shaped by the intersection of science, innovation, and human dedication.
Multiple open-heart surgeries.
Decades of specialized cardiac care.
A future made possible by research that didn’t exist just a generation before.
It would have been understandable if that experience led to caution, fear, or limitation.
Instead, it led to creation.
And gratitude.
“The American Heart Association made it possible for me to not only survive but to thrive,” Katie shares. “I am proud to give back to an organization that has given me—and so many others—the gift of a future.”
That sentence alone captures something profound: when you’ve been given time, you tend to use it differently.
HiFavorite: A Brand Born From Perspective
At WISe Wellness Guild, we often talk about how wellness is not just physical—it’s emotional, social, creative, and deeply personal.
HiFavorite reflects that philosophy beautifully.
The company creates thoughtfully designed products that spark joy, celebrate individuality, and help people feel more connected—to themselves and to each other. There is an intentionality behind the brand that feels both modern and timeless.
Because when you’ve spent time in hospital rooms, you understand the extraordinary value of ordinary moments.
HiFavorite isn’t just about what people buy.
It’s about how people feel.
Seen. Connected. Alive.
Katie has translated her lived experience into something that serves others—not by preaching wellness, but by embodying it.
Turning Survival Into Service: Go Red for Women
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in women, yet awareness, research funding, and clinical understanding still lag behind where they need to be.
That’s why Go Red for Women exists—and why Katie’s leadership within the Woman of Impact campaign is so powerful.
Her mission is clear:
To raise awareness.
To fund lifesaving research.
To ensure more women have access to the care and knowledge they need to thrive.
This isn’t abstract advocacy. It’s personal.
Katie represents what is possible when research, medicine, and human resilience intersect.
She is living proof that investment in heart health doesn’t just extend lives—it enables lives of leadership, creativity, and contribution.
A Different Kind of Leadership
At WISe, we believe leadership is not defined by title. It’s defined by the willingness to use your voice, your platform, and your story in service of something bigger than yourself.
Katie embodies that fully.
She didn’t choose her diagnosis.
But she chose her response.
She chose to build.
She chose to lead.
She chose to give back.
And in doing so, she reminds us of something essential:
Wellness is not about perfection. It’s about participation.
It’s about showing up—for yourself and for others.
Why This Matters Now
The Woman of Impact campaign runs through April 9, bringing together leaders across the country committed to accelerating change in women’s heart health.
The funds raised will support research, education, and clinical advancements that will shape the future of care for millions of women.
But beyond the dollars, this campaign represents something even more powerful: awareness.
Because awareness leads to earlier detection.
Earlier detection leads to better outcomes.
Better outcomes lead to more lives fully lived.
Lives like Katie’s.
Lives filled with creation, connection, and contribution.
The Legacy We Choose to Build
At WISe Wellness Guild, we believe wellness is ultimately about legacy—how we use our time, our energy, and our influence to leave the world better than we found it.
Katie Binzer is doing exactly that.
Through HiFavorite, she’s helping people celebrate life’s moments.
Through Go Red for Women, she’s helping ensure more women get the chance to have those moments at all.
Her story is a reminder that the most powerful leaders are not the ones who have avoided hardship—but the ones who have transformed it into purpose.
And that sometimes, the most extraordinary impact begins with something as simple—and as profound—as a grateful heart.
To support Katie’s Go Red for Women campaign now is the time. Because together, we have the power to change the future of women’s heart health.
