Sunrise, Sand, and Self-Care: My Wellness Morning in Delray Beach

When was the last time you truly slowed down. I’m not talking about scrolling on Instagram in bed or just to rest. But about reconnecting with yourself.
Vacation is a time for R&R and fun, but sometimes wellness can take a backseat. We go out to eat, stay up later, and perhaps indulge in those umbrella drinks. However, these days vacation and wellness are going hand-in-hand more than ever. Hotels now offer in-room workouts on the tv, upgraded fitness centers, and spas. Goodbye one lonely treadmill, hello Pelotons. Wellness has become an integral part of the travel experience with people wanting to keep up with their routines or explore something new.
On May 9, while on vacation in Delray Beach, Florida, I did exactly that. I had the chance to attend a dreamy wellness event at The Seagate Beach Club, where the ocean breeze met intentional movement, healing practices, and a community of like-minded souls. The morning was part of their open-to-the-public Wellness Series, and it was nothing short of magical. I even forced by husband, on his birthday, to wake up at 6:30 AM to make the one mile trek from The Seagate Hotel to their beach club.

Move. Breathe. Be.
.We began the morning with a beachside Pilates session, led by Tremble. There’s something powerful about strengthening your body while the waves crash just feet away—it grounds you in a way a studio never could. Also, the beach and uneven sand makes pilates 1000 times harder (I didn’t know that was possible!)
Next came a gentle yoga flow and sound bath by Dandelight Yoga Studio. I laid back in the sand, eyes closed, as crystal bowls washed over us with healing frequencies. That moment—sun on my face, breath slow, surrounded by stillness—was the reset I needed.

Wellness That Goes Beyond the Mat
The wellness didn’t stop there. After class, I sipped on ODYSSEY, a functional beverage that specializes in cognition, energy, and mood boosting performance using high potency Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, L-theanine and Panax Ginseng.
There was a cold plunge that my husband braved for 90 seconds and he really enjoyed it. This warm weather animal cheered him on from the sidelines but I know there are benefits to it. I got my first B12 shot courtesy of The BioStation. Spoiler alert: I felt amazing for the rest of the day.
One of my favorite surprises? A tarot card reading from Natalie of Blooming Bliss Yoga that offered some unexpected insights and aligned perfectly with where I am in life right now. (Let’s just say the Queen of Swords was a highlight for my romantasy loving heart.).
I topped off the morning with an açaí bowl from Playa Bowls. It was almost too beautiful to eat but I, of course, ate every bite. I also browsed local wellness vendors like Float8 and 3 Natives—so many thoughtful, health-forward products and people.
Travel Meets Wellness
This event reminded me why I always seek out wellness opportunities while traveling. It’s a chance to immerse in local energy, discover new routines, and reconnect with yourself in a fresh environment.
Whether it’s yoga on the beach or discovering local vendors that align with your values, blending travel and wellness makes any trip more meaningful.
I left with sandy toes, a glowing heart, and a renewed sense of balance.
Tips for Your Next Wellness Travel Adventure:
Bring a large towel or blanket—mats and sand don’t always mix!
Stay open to trying something new (cold plunge, anyone?).
Capture the moment, but don’t forget to simply be in it.
